(Las Vegas - March 1, 2024) - The Trailblazers returned to the court on Friday afternoon falling to Northern Arizona, 7-0 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on the campus of UNLV.

After winning four straight on the road in Arizona two weeks ago, Utah Tech (4-6) was back in action against the Lumberjacks.

"The team played well," said head coach Eric Pelton. We had some chances, but just did not convert. Ana and Kiki played really strong at two doubles.

The Blazers dropped the doubles point getting close at number two doubles with the duo of Ana Gutierrez Sampere & Ya-Chi Hsu falling 7-5 while the first and third doubles also dropped their matches.

On the singles side, Gutierrez Sampere pushed the Lumberjacks number one singles player Pat Niewiadomska to a third set winning the second set, 6-3 before dropping the third set tiebreaker, 10-6.

"Ana played a great match at number one singles losing a close first set, 6-4, but came back in the second set with a strong 6-3 win," added Pelton.

The Trailblazers wrap up action in Las Vegas on Saturday facing No. 69 UNLV at 10:30 a.m.
