OPENING TIP:  Dixie State women's basketball 2021-22 season is in the final stretch with just six games remaining, three on the road and three at home. This week DSU hosts New Mexico State Thursday Feb. 17 at 7:00 PM before hitting the road to take on Utah Valley Saturday Feb. 19 at 2:00 PM. 
 
FAST BREAK
•  Dixie State is coming off a 0-2 weekend, falling 84-82 to NM State in triple overtime and falling 66-50 to Grand Canyon.  
•  The Trailblazers are 7-16 overall on the season and have a 3-9 record in the WAC.
•  DSU is on a four game losing streak.
•  The Blazers have returned just two starters from last year.
•  Dixie State was picked No. 12 in the WAC preseason polls.

DOUBLE DOUBLE DOWNLOAD: Emily Isaacson leads the Trailblazers with five double- doubles on the season. She had double-doubles in back-to-back games against Chicago State and Sam Houston.  Against, Antelope Valley she recorded 14 rebounds for a career high.

BEANS AND THE TRIPLE DOUBLE: Junior, Breaunna Gillen recorded a triple double against Life Pacific with 14 points, 10 Rebounds and 11 Assists. She's the second Trailblazer in school history to record a triple double.
Previously during the 2009-10 season, Deanna Daniels recorded 10 points, 10 rebounds and 12 steals. The 12 steals is the current school record.
 
OVERTIME THRILLERS: Against NM State, the Trailblazers and Aggies went into triple overtime.  This was the seond time in school history DSU has had a triple overtime game. Last time was in 2018-19, Dixie defeated Saint Martins 107-103. DSU now has a 1-1 record in triple overtime games. The Trailblazers have a 10-8 overall record in overtime games. 
 
FIRST WIN OVER DIVISION I OPPONENT: Dixie State picked up it's first win over a Division I program against Tarleton State on Dec. 30. Emily Isaacson led DSU with a career high of 25 points popping off of 15 points in the fourth quarter. The Trailblazers had battled as they switched lead changes three different times and the scored tied five times.
 
TWENTY-SEVEN IS THE SWEET SPOT: The Trailblazers have lost only one game this season hitting 27 made field goals. There is only one win on the season that was below 27 field goals. Against NM State, DSU had 30 made field goals but fell in 3OT 84-82. 
 
HOME SWEET HOME: Since joining the NCAA ranks in 2006-07, Dixie State has played to a 119-65 (.646) overall record in the Burns Arena. Under Head Coach JD Gustin, DSU is 40-32 (.555) at home which includes the 6-7 record this season.
      
ON THE DUSTY TRAIL: Dixie State has a 73-107 (.405) record on the road since joining the NCAA in 2006-07. Under Head Coach JD Gustin, the Blazers are 20-41 (.327) on the road. The Trailblazers are currently 1-7 on the road this year.
 
RECORD BREAKING SEASON DEBUT: Dixie State  started the 2021-22 season off with a bang. After not playing a single game in nearly a year, the Trailblazers opened with a record breaking game in the 107-57 win over Life Pacific.
•  Tied the most points in a single game with 107
•  Broke the record for most made 3-point field goals in a game.
•  Broke the record for most attempted 3-point field goals in a game.
•  #4 in school history in largest victory margin with 50 points
•  Tied #3 in school history for assists in a game with 28.
