WBB: Women Drop Final Game to Grand Canyon 71-54

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The Dixie State College women's basketball team dropped their final game of the season to Grand Canyon 71-54 tonight in Phoenix.

Playing for a chance to win a share of the PacWest title and the hopes of NCAA postseason birth, the Red Storm shot just 22.2 percent in the second half and came up short against the Lopes.

Trailing 32-27 at the half, GCU used several runs in the second half to seperate themselves from the Red Storm.

Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) finished with 16 points and Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood) added 10 points. DSC shot just 29.9 percent for the game and 21.4 percent from three point range. They attempted 28 shots from behind the arc.

Grand Canyon was paced by four players who scored in double figures and scored 32 points in the paint. Leading the way was Joslynn Frazier with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Red Storm finished the season with an 18-8 record and 13-5 conference mark.

Grand Canyon, the number 16 team in the country in the WBCA poll and the #3 seed in the West Region. They have won a share of the PacWest title five of the last six seasons.
