SAINT GEORGE, UT
-Five Dixie State players scored in double figures as the #11-ranked women's basketball team rolled to a 99-44 win over Chaminade University on Saturday night in the Burns Arena.

The Red Storm (16-1, 6-0 PacWest) held Chaminade (1-12. 1-5 PacWest) scoreless for the first five minutes of the game and built a 25-2 lead with 10:34 remaining.

Breann Hill (Harrisburg, PA/McDevitt) scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds; Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ) added 20 points and nine rebounds. Erica Carlson (Tucson, AZ/Canyon del Oro HS) was the star that shined the brightest with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists and tied a school record with eight blocked shots. Rachel Gines (South Jordan, UT/Bingham ) added a career high 12 points and Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) chipped in 10 points.

The Red Storm never trailed in the game and shot 52.3 percent from the field and won the battle of the boards 48-34.

The stingy DSC defense forced 26 turnovers and held CUH to a 24.1 percent shooting performance from the field.

The Red Storm bench earned valuable minutes and outscored the Silverwords 29-16. No Red Storm player played more than 22 minutes in the game.

For the fourth time in the young D2 school history, the Red Storm failed to hit the century mark in a game. They have done it only one time in 2008 at the College of Saint Mary.

For Chaminade, Jamie Higa scored 11 points and Markeshia Manning grabbed seven rebounds.

The Red Storm will now prepare for its most difficult test remaining with a road trip to Phoenix to take on 12th-ranked Grand Canyon next Saturday afternoon. Both schools have continued to win since the epic battle on January 8th in Saint George in which the Red Storm prevailed 85-72.
